Our goal at UI2 is to connect faculty members with the research partners and funding they need to study, design, develop and apply digital technologies.

Center for Data Science
The Center for Data Science is an initiative of several university colleges and departments (Mathematics, Computing, Biomedical Informatics, Information Systems) to develop and support digital technology certificates ,including a searchable webpage for students interested in advancing their educations.

The SCI research group was founded in 1994. Using a major National Institutes of Health National Centers for Research Resources award, SCI became one of seven otherpermant research institutes at the University of Utah. SCI is home to over 200 faculty, students and staff, including 17 tenure-track faculty drawn primarily from the School of Computingand the Departments of Bioengineering, Mathematics and Electrical and Computer Engineering.
